About Us
RM Contractors was founded by Robert Moncrieff, a time-served joiner whose career started the traditional way — on site, learning the trade properly from the ground up.
Robert began as a joinery apprentice, working on domestic properties and learning the importance of accuracy, patience and finishing standards.
From early in his career it became clear that good joinery wasn’t just about fitting timber — it was about understanding how an entire property comes together. Floors, walls, kitchens, structural work and finishes all rely on each other being done correctly.
As his experience grew, Robert became increasingly involved in larger renovation projects. Homeowners began asking him not only to complete the joinery work, but to organise other trades, manage projects and oversee full refurbishments. The difference in quality when a project was run by someone who actually understood construction — rather than a salesperson or office manager — quickly became obvious.
RM Contractors developed naturally from this.
From Joiner to Full Building Contractor
What began as a joinery service gradually expanded into a complete property improvement and building company.
By building trusted relationships with reliable trades and maintaining strict standards on site, Robert created a team capable of delivering full projects from start to finish.
Today RM Contractors operates as an all-trades building contractor, carrying out renovations, conversions, kitchens, bathrooms, extensions and structural alterations — all managed under one roof.
Every project is still led with the same attention to detail that comes from a joinery background. The finish matters just as much as the structure, and nothing is rushed simply to move on to the next job.
